Let us introduce you to Piñatex®, the leather alternative textile made from pineapple leaf fibers! It is the one material that we mostly use in our collections.

It is the most innovative natural textile we have found so far. It is a material that is completely cradle to cradle, it substitutes leather that has a very heavy envrionmental and welfare impact, and it brings new income streams to subsistence farmers, allowing them to fully utilise their crops.

This is how Piñatex® is made

The leaves used to make Piñatex® are the ones from the plant, upon which grow the pineapple fruits.
Une fois les feuilles récoltées, elles sont rassemblées pour triage.
After being harvested, the leaves are gathered together to be sorted out.
Les feuilles sont ensuite décortiquées pour en extraire la fibre.
The leaves are then peeled to extract the fiber.
The pineapple fibers are dried by the sun before being transformed.
Last step, the fibers are transformed in Spain to give them their particular look!
